HAIX
HAIX® is excited to announce the release of our new Airpower® XR2 Winter! We took our most popular Station/EMS boot and winterized it! What sets this new boot apart is the newly developed rubber winter sole which is extremely slip-resistant on ice and snow. Those who have already tested it say the grip is unbelievable on slick terrain. Just like the Airpower® XR2, the inner liner is CROSSTECH®, so it offers the same level of heat insulation as our standard model. Our thicker HAIX® leather, the CROSSTECH® inner liner, and the built in climate system all work in tandem to keep your feet dry and comfortable no matter how much the temperature drops outside. The new winter outsole is still heat, fuel and oil resistant as well. The Airpower® XR2 Winter is NFPA certified for emergency medical operations as well as certified to ASTM and CAN/CSA for toe protection, puncture, and electrical hazards. Station and EMS boot with NFPA certification Designed for the EMT, Paramedic and First Responder, you need a boot that lets you act on a moment’s notice while at the same time giving your feet the comfort they crave when faced with long days on shift duty. The quick in and out feature of the laced in front zipper allows you the advantage of a custom fit boot that can also put on in a hurry. Just adjust the lacing for a fit personalized to you. Slip on, zip, and go. Built with an ultra-light composite toe, HAIX Airpower® XR2 Winter boots offer the ultimate in toe protection and comfort with its roomy toe box. It offers chemical and bloodborne pathogen protection, and electrical hazard protection. NFPA certified for emergency medical operations for the EMS responder, the Airpower® XR2 Winter is also ASTM certified for electrical hazards.  What more could you ask for in rescue boots you can also wear in the station? Waterproof and Chemical Protection with CROSSTECH® The HAIX Airpower® XR2 Winter features a CROSSTECH® inner liner which allows your boot to be not only breathable, but durably waterproof. CROSSTECH® also offers the added benefits of chemical and bloodborne pathogen protection. Not only that, the breathable inner liner works together with the HAIX® climate system to keep your footwear dry and comfortable in hot or cold weather or on wet or dry days. No worries when having to work out in the rain or at a messy accident scene, your footwear will keep you protected and comfortable on all fronts. Built in Arch Support The HAIX Airpower® XR2 Winter has much needed arch support built in to every boot. Proper arch support realigns the foot and ankle to their neutral position, helping, in many cases, to restore natural foot function. As a result, it will help alleviate problems in other parts of the body, like your knees and ankles. The cushioned insole offers all day wear comfort, especially when combined with the built in arch support. Slip and Heat Resistant Soles and Quick Drying Insoles The heat resistant soles of the HAIX Airpower® XR2 Winter are extremely slip resistant as well as resistant to oil and fuel. Accident scenes, especially ones that involve vehicle fires, are not an issue as you don’t have to worry about your soles melting on hot asphalt or worry about exposing your soles to fuel and oil leaks. HAIX® soles keep you sure footed so you can focus on doing your job. The insole’s moisture wicking properties guarantee to combat the issue of sweaty feet, especially after a long day on the job. Not only do they help to absorb foot sweat, the antibacterial properties help to fight foot odor and reduce the presence of fungus and bacteria. With comfort cushioning, the separate heel cup aids in keeping your foot in the correct position for foot health. HAIX® insoles and machine washable and quickly air dry so you can get a quick refresh and be back on the job in no time. Sun Reflect Technology and Secura Liner® European craftsmanship is unmistakable when you look at this boot. European leather guarantees your boots will stand the test of time. The added Sun Reflect technology in the leather of these safety boots prevents you boots from heating up on you when you are out in the sun. Your feet will feel the difference since cooler leather on the outside translates to cooler feet on the inside. HAIX®’s patented Secura Liner® feature protects you from the irritation of liner pull out. Your inner liner stays securely in place since it is sealed along with the leather beneath the sole, and is not a “sock” that is glued in under the insole like you see in other boots. No other boot manufacturer offers this unique feature. Nothing worse than having your liner come out of the boot along with your foot. HAIX Airpower® XR2 Winter is your first choice for a Station/EMS safety boot. German engineered NFPA certified for EMS CROSSTECH® inner liner, waterproof, breathable, chemical and bloodborne pathogen resistant Secura liner® will never wrinkle up or pull out over time Arch Support System support your foot in its natural, ideal position Sun Reflect leather keeps feet cooler in direct sunlight HAIX® Climate System for temperature balance HAIX® Lacing System offers the quick on and off of a zipper boot with the personal fit of a lace up boot Lightweight composite toe cap and puncture protective sole Heat and extremely slip-resistant rubber sole ASTM certified for electrical hazard resistance (EH rated) Learn more about HAIX® footwear technology. Your questions. Our honest answers.

With the CROSSTECH inner liner, the Airpower XR2 Winter does offer protection from liquids, chemicals, and bloodborne pathogens. The boots are tested and certified according to NFPA 1999 standards for biopenetration.
Yes, you can buy replacement parts for the Airpower XR2 Winter such as insoles, laces, and zippers. You can find these items on our website on the accessories page. If you are looking to retread or refurbish your Airpower XR2 Winter boots, check out the HAIX Extended Wear program page.
Yes, your boot fit can be adjusted on the Airpower XR2 Winter by tightening or loosening the laces on either side of the zipper mechanisim. For a slightly more individualized fit, boots can be adjusted with an alternate insole. A blue insole for a narrower fit (thickest), a yellow insole for a wider fit (thinnest). Extra insoles can be purchased on the accessories page.
Yes, the front lacing zipper system of the Airpower XR2 Winter allows the individual user to adjust the fit to their own personal needs, offering more ankle support as needed, or possibly offering a looser fit in the lower leg for larger calves. Boots should be adjusted to your preference when they are received, then just zip in or out from then on. A second adjustment to the lacing may be needed after the boots have gone through their initial break in period.
The Airpower® XR2 and Airpower® R2 are certified to NFPA 1999 for emergency medical operations while the Airpower® XR1 is certified to both NFPA 1999 and NFPA 1977 for Wildland Firefighting. The Airpower® XR2 and Airpower R2 are both 8" in height while the Airpower® XR1 is 9" in height. Both the Airpower® XR1 and XR2 are composite toe with non-metallic puncture plates while the Airpower® R2 has a steel toe and steel puncture plate. The Airpower® R2 differs from the other 2 models in that it has a leather toe that is polishable. Since the Airpower® XR2 and XR1 are so similar, the Airpower® XR1 has a red NFPA 1977 label on the left boot.
The Airpower XR2 Winter runs similar in size to your athletic shoe size, but because of the built in arch support, they do run on the narrow side. The Airpower XR2 Winter comes in medium, wide, and extra wide widths. It is recommended that you order one width larger than your usual width. For example, most people who normally wear a medium, would wear a wide in this boot.

Still functions like day one

I’ve been wearing the HAIX XR2 boot just about every day since I got them over a year ago. The boot still functions like day one, and looks like it has many years left to go.

Best cold weather operational boots I have ever worn

I have over 30 years of operational medicine as a paramedic in various roles.
These boots are by far the best I have ever owned. Currently at a remote location in Northern British Columbia
with extreme temperatures and they have never failed me once.
Thank you

Excellent boots!

Hands down the best station boots. You can easily step out of them to jump into your turnout gear. Comfortable to work with all around the station. Much more comfortable than side zip models. No time to brake in. Only thing is that it takes a little time to get the right adjustment with the laces. Otherwise nothing but positive to say about these!

Love my new Haix Airforce X2 Winter

I have had Haix station boots for the last few years. I was hoping that they would fix the slipping issue for the lovely winters we have. Quite regularly I would have to catch myself from slipping when on med calls. Well you have fixed the problem regarding winter time walking with the new Airforce X2 Winter. Love them, always comfortable thank you for getting up to me so quick.

XR2 Winter

Very comfortable boots. I have owned several pair of Haix over the years. But the leather that attached to sole has came apart and the boots are just over a year old.

Yes buy it

I have been trying to find a composite/steel toe boot that feels great for about 10 years, this is the boot. After trying several composite type boots I gave up and bought boots without the toe protective toe, despite my companies demand. All of the boots I tried would hurt my toes beyond my ability to wear them beyond a couple of days. This boot is the best feeling boot or shoe I have worn. I am unaware that I am wearing a composite toe boot. I would also like to add that my entire foot including my heel feels like this boot was tailored made for my foot. I will not buy a different brand of boot for work. Thanks

Excellent

I purchased these boots about 2.5 yrs ago and these are by far the best boots I’ve ever had. Super durable super comfy. Ive put some miles on them and will be purchasing them again soon. I had no problems with them. The break in phase can be tough just because of it being a heavier boot but otherwise worth every penny.

Zipper

Boots feel amazing but the zipper got stuck and I had to pull and rip the boots off my feet taking about 5 min to accomplish

So far so good,

Very sturdy well made boots , it would be a 10/10 but I’m having the issue of the zipper getting stuck halfway down which kinda knocks the whole speed aspect. Being a career firefighter time is critical and you look dumb trying to force boots off. If they hold up And perform as advertised I’ll be a happy customer.
