"As far back as I can remember, I have wanted to be K9 handler. After graduating high school, I was offered a job at the local fire department as a firefighter/EMT, which is how I first learned about your company. I bought a used pair of HAIX® turnout boots from another firefighter. They were awesome and always kept my feet very comfortable, warm, and dry.

Working at the fire department was a great experience but I still had a desire to work in law enforcement. In 2013, I became a correctional officer for the Stark County Sheriff's Office in Ohio. This past summer, I submitted a letter of interest about being a K9 handler in the jail and the sheriff decided to offer me the position.

I started training with K9 Chase in June. I am currently the only corrections officer in the state and the only female in my county who has a K9. Chase is currently certified in the detection of narcotics. We will be doing more training in the near future to certify him as a dual purpose K9.

One of our daily jobs is doing a perimeter check twice a day around the jail. The boots I were issued claimed to be waterproof but my feet were wet every day. So, I decided to purchase my own boots. Somewhere in my search I found your website and I noticed you had tactical boots. I never knew you offered anything other than fire boots. So, after reading reviews and comparing your boots to other brands, I decided to give HAIX® a try.

I purchased a pair of the Black Eagle® Tactical 2.0 GTX and so far, I am very impressed. I wear them every day for 8 to 9 hours and walk through all kinds of things, including a lot of water. My feet have always stayed warm and dry. I have even started wearing them for K9 training, since it's been cold and wet outside.

I no longer want to wear my old boots that get my feet wet after 5 minutes of being out in the elements. I have every intention of purchasing another pair of these boots. I need one pair for work that can be shined up, and one pair for training with Chase that can get muddy.
